Recently, Lotus and Britishvolt signed a memorandum of cooperation, and the two parties will cooperate in the research and development of electric vehicle-related technologies.

Information shows that the two parties will cooperate to develop an innovative new battery pack that will be installed on Lotus’ next-generation electric sports car. At the same time, an official design sketch was released for the first time. Britishvolt will provide the power battery for the new car, and Lotus will be mainly responsible for vehicle technology.

The partnership with Britishvolt is another major development in Lotus’ ongoing transformation from a British sports car company to a global all-electric performance vehicle business and brand. The move comes after Lotus invested £100m in its UK factories, including a manufacturing center in Hethel for the Evija all-electric supercar and Emira sports car.

For reference, in the next few months, Lotus will launch a new pure electric SUV Type 132, and it has been confirmed that three more electric vehicles are in the preparation stage.
