On November 2, the new BMW M235L four-door coupe, as the youngest M model, made its world debut at the BMW M Hot Night. It is reported that the new car will be launched at the Guangzhou Auto Show and is positioned as a compact car. It is the second domestic M performance car. It is equipped with a 2.0T engine. Both the exterior and interior adopt a new design language. The wheelbase is 110mm longer than the previous generation model.
In terms of appearance, the new car adopts the latest family-style design language. The new "vertical and horizontal grille" is inspired by the BMW Vision Circular concept car. The semi-enclosed grille combines vertical and diagonal lines and looks sporty. The M performance version uses a thick banner grille and is equipped with the M logo, which looks very fierce.
In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4663/1801/1457mm, and the wheelbase reaches 2780mm, which is 110mm longer than the previous generation. The rear legroom has been significantly improved. At the rear of the car, the new car’s taillights become an inverted L-shaped design, while highlighting the three-dimensional effect. In addition, the new generation 2 Series four-door coupe uses hidden exhaust tailpipes. The M performance version uses a bilateral exhaust layout with four outlets in total.
In terms of power, according to the declaration information, the new domestically produced BMW 2 Series four-door coupe will be equipped with a 2.0T four-cylinder engine. The maximum power of the 220L model is 128 kW, the 225L model has a maximum power of 167 kW, and the M235L model has a maximum power of 246 kW.
It is reported that M high-performance cars will also launch pure electric models in the future. The next generation M3 will not only continue to bring a fuel version, but also a pure electric version equipped with four motors and a highly integrated driving dynamics control system.
