On August 20, Beijing time, the McLaren Solus GT was officially released at the Pebble Beach Auto Show. There are only 25 units sold globally and all have been sold out. The new car has become the world's first real-life track-exclusive model based on the first concept car in the virtual game world, and will be delivered in 2023.

The McLaren Solus GT is specially built based on the concept car in the "Gran Turismo Sport" racing game, and continues the styling style of the virtual racing car. The racing-style air intake and air intake above the cockpit The integrated rolling ring guard design directs cold air into the engine while producing a charming intake sound. Solus GT’s radiators are located on both sides of the body, also drawing on the design style of racing cars.

The car is equipped with a unique dome-style canopy. The driver can follow a shallow arc to slide forward to open the canopy and enter the car. This is different from traditional doors and the iconic butterfly doors of other McLaren models. The design is completely different, and it feels more like driving a jet fighter. This way of entering the cockpit adds to the unique sense of ritual of driving a single-seat sports car.

Inside the car, the seat posture is a fixed design, and 25 owners of Solus GT can enjoy personalized racing style " span>Seating configuration. At the same time, the car introduces the pedal box adjustment function of a racing car, and the owner can freely adjust it through the remote control system from the driver's seat. The steering wheel design inspired by the F1 racing car is unique among McLaren production cars, while the dashboard display and core control functions are integrated to fit the compact layout of a track-specific single-seat sports car. The glass cover provides a clear forward view and integrates a Halo cockpit protection system. The image of the reversing monitor is derived from a wide-angle camera installed in the anti-roll ring.

In terms of power, Solus GT is equipped with a 5.2L naturally aspirated V10 engine, which uses small-volume machined components. The maximum speed exceeds 10,000 rpm, the maximum power is 840 horsepower, and the peak torque is 650 Nm. The official acceleration time from 0-100km/h is 2.5 seconds, and the top speed exceeds 320km/h (200mph).

The track-derived seven-speed sequential gearbox uses a custom-made casting and aluminum casing. The body also uses magnesium alloy plates. The gearbox is installed on the back of the engine, and the rear suspension is fixed on the gearbox housing. Inside the gearbox, straight-cut gears engaged by a multi-plate carbon fiber clutch can fully meet the demand for rapid shifting speeds during track driving.

Solus GT uses a carbon fiber monocoque chassis structure and other cutting-edge materials. 3D printed titanium components further integrate a series of advanced technologies in the field of high-level racing and are used in anti-roll rings and Halo cockpit protection devices. The suspension system integrates double wishbones and a torsion bar damping system on the inside of the body. The torsion bars are operated via front push rods and rear pull rods. The front and rear axles are connected by transverse stabilizer bars, which can be adjusted by the driver through mode selection. The front suspension links are made of steel, designed to improve durability, while using aerodynamic carbon fiber shrouds similar to those found on F1 cars.
